Jo is a generalist HR Director and Wellbeing Specialist.
She is proficient in developing and implementing innovative recruitment and retention strategies, researching and implementing human resource information systems, developing employee policies and procedures, managing employee relations, developing competency frameworks, performance management and measurement systems, compensation and benefits systems and recognition programs, conducting labour negotiations and relations, business process redesign, and critical incident stress response and management initiatives. Jo has researched, designed and conducted high impact training programs during her roles in the UK as well as in global locations for a wide expanse of leadership, behavioural, and skills educational initiatives for large corporations as well as for dynamic entrepreneurial firms.
She has worked with a variety of organisations and industries ranging in size from multinational: Snap-On Equipment and GlaxoSmithKline, Europe-wide: Decorative Sleeves packaging and Bespak pharmaceutical manufacture; locally Jo has managed complex wellbeing strategies for a variety of organisations. She recently took HR lead as part of the team designing and implementing the new Norfolk Wellbeing Service, in partnership with the NHS, Mind and Relate.
Alongside a generalist HR consultancy, Jo’s specialism is working with organisations seeking to develop their businesses by focusing on the engagement of employees through support for their wellbeing and the health of the teams they work in. She has developed approaches, policies and benefits that have enabled organisations to retain valued workers, increase productivity and improve employee morale, building workplace environments where people want to work.
She is the Mindful Employer lead for West Norfolk and has had an eleven year-long working association with Mind, the mental health charity. Jo is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
